Description

Astilboides tabularis is a show-stopping perennial, prized for its massive, circular leaves that can reach up to 3 feet (90 cm) in diameter. These striking, deeply veined leaves emerge from sturdy stalks, creating a dramatic, umbrella-like effect that brings texture and structure to shaded garden spaces. Native to China, this plant is closely related to Rodgersia and thrives in cool, moist environments where it can develop its full grandeur.

In early to mid-summer, tall, airy plumes of tiny, creamy-white flowers rise above the foliage on slender stems, resembling those of Astilbe.
