Fargesia ‘Deep Purple’ is a striking, non-invasive clumping bamboo known for its elegant form, rich culm (stem) color, and suitability for smaller gardens or containers. It belongs to the Fargesia nitida group, which is native to mountainous regions of China and prized for its cold hardiness and graceful habit.

🎍 Description of Fargesia ‘Deep Purple’:

• Culms (Stems): Young culms emerge deep purple to nearly black, maturing to a smoky plum or greenish hue. The contrast with the bright green foliage creates a dramatic visual effect.

• Foliage: Narrow, lance-shaped leaves are fine-textured, mid- to dark green, and gracefully arch outward.

• Height & Spread: Typically grows 2.5 to 4 meters tall (8–13 feet) with a clumping spread of 1.5–2 meters. Its upright, fountain-like habit makes it ideal for screens or ornamental features.
