Description
What Are Bulbils?
-
Bulbils are tiny, self-producing plantlets that form in the leaf axils (where the leaf stem meets the main stem) of Begonia ‘Torsa’ as the plant matures.
-
Unlike seeds, these bulbil structures are miniature tubers — essentially baby versions of the plant that can grow into full plants.
-
When the bulbils eventually detach and fall into the soil, they can sprout in spring if left uncovered.
